About Us

St. Lideta Health Sciences and Business College (SLHSBC) is an accredited private higher learning institution (HLI) owned by St. Lideta Lemariam and Debre Medhanit Medhanealem Church. The College has been providing education and training services to Ethiopian youth and adults since 2005, with a primary focus on developing competent and skilled professionals who can contribute to the health and socio-economic development of the country.

Since its establishment, the College has provided Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs in the fields of Medical Laboratory Technology, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Midwifery. In addition, SLHSBC offers undergraduate degree programs in Nursing, Pharmacy, and Public Health. Recognizing the growing demand for qualified professionals in the business sector, the College expanded its academic portfolio in 2020 to include Accounting and Finance and Business Management programs, offered through both regular and evening modes of study.

The College is committed to fulfilling the broader objectives of higher education in Ethiopia, including the development of skilled human resources responsive to the country's development needs; the promotion of research and evidence-based solutions to priority national challenges; the dissemination and utilization of research findings; and the provision of relevant professional and technical services to the community.

Governance and Institutional Leadership

St. Lideta Health Sciences and Business College is governed by an independent Executive Board appointed by the Church Administration, following prior confirmation by the Holy Synod of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church through official written approval from His Holiness the Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church.

The governance structure provides strategic oversight and supports the College in maintaining institutional accountability, academic quality, effective management, and sustainable development.
